Massage Therapist Job Description

Job Requirements

• Ability to combine a variety of massage techniques based on client's individual needs;
• Demonstration of superior techniques and abilities to make clients feel welcome;
• Friendliness and helpfulness to make sure the customer will want to come back;
• Willingness to promote the health benefits of regular massage;
• Ability to generate new clientele; and
  
• Commitment to professionalism, and cleanliness of therapy rooms and common areas.

Minimum Professional Requirements

• 3 years' experience;
• Evidence of successful completion of state-recognized massage school;
• Certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB);
• Mastery of the following massage techniques:
  
  • Swedish,
    
  • Deep-Tissue,
    
  • Craniosacral Therapy (CST),
    
  • Pregnancy Massage (Prenatal and Postnatal),
    
  • Myofascial Release,
    
  • Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), and
    
  • Complete Decongestive Therapy
• Must be customer-service oriented and able to communicate effectively with clients and clinic staff; and
  
• Must be able to work flexible days and hours.
